Development and Humanitarian Services for Afghanistan (DHSA) is an Afghan non-profit, non-partisan NGO founded in 1992. Our story begins with a group of like-minded Afghans dreaming of the free, peaceful, and prosperous Afghanistan we once knew. We recognized that we had to do our part in helping rebuild it, no matter how long and arduous the journey.
DHSA has spearheaded efforts in five strategic areas of humanitarian services, rural development, education, culture, and media across Afghanistan. As an Afghan NGO with one of the most comprehensive portfolios of donors, we have been a trusted implementing partner for nearly 300 internationally-funded projects. In addition, we have added a sixth strategic area of environmental protection to help Afghanistan develop climate adaptation strategies and become more climate resilient. In addition to being permanently registered in Afghanistan, DHSA is also registered in Brussels, Belgium.
